Dr. Laura Ergle is the Director of Programs at the Griffin Region College & Career Academy.
Laura is an Army Brat and grew up in numerous cities across the United States. Her educational experiences have been at the University of Georgia where she earned a BS in Family & Consumer Sciences, and a MEd in Educational Leadership. A Doctoral Degree was earned at Argosy University in Atlanta, also in Educational Leadership.
Laura served seven years as a Family & Consumer Sciences teacher at Newnan High School and McIntosh High School. She then worked with the Georgia Department of Education as the Program Specialist for Family & Consumer Sciences. Almost 8 years later she returned to a local school system as an Assistant Principal at Spalding High School for 2 years. The 2015-2016 she became the CTAE Director for the Griffin Spalding County School System, and the 2016-2017 school year she will also serve as the Director of Programs for the Griffin Region College & Career Academy.
Laura worked in Business and Industry prior to becoming an educator. She spent almost 11 years working at Delta Air Lines as a flight attendant and flight attendant scheduler, and then worked with Triumph Motorcycles setting up dealers across the country when they brought their new line of motorcycles to America.
Laura has served on many boards including Georgia FCCLA, Georgia FFA & FCCLA Camp Administration, Georgia Association of Teachers of Family & Consumer Sciences, National Association of State Administrators for Family & Consumer Sciences, Georgia FCCLA Foundation Board, GACHEF ( A Foundation for Culinary Arts Education), GECEF (Georgia Early Childhood Education Foundation) and is a member of numerous other organizations.
Laura has worked on the task force and now governing board to make the Griffin Region College & Career Academy a reality to the community and is excited about the opening of programs in the Fall of 2016.
